Sant Jordi Hostels offers to its customers much more than a simple experience in a traditional hostel: a pleasant atmosphere and facilities specially designed for the comfort of guests. In our hostels, you will find the ideal environment for large groups as well as for solo travelers. In any of our hostels, you will feel at home and you will find the atmosphere to make new friends and enjoy unforgettable moments in Barcelona. We welcome you!
1.2 Terms & Conditions
Luggage Storage: We offer free luggage storage at the hostels. This service is available to customers throughout their day of departure from the hostels.
Free Internet: We offer free Internet access in all our hostels. This service works 24 hours a day and the password is available at the reception of the hostel where you are staying.
Best locations: Each of our hostels are close to one or more famous tourist spots in the city. Also, each hostel is very well connected with public transport.
Security and control: At the time of your arrival, you will be given an access card to the main entrance of the hostel, to your room, and to the closet that corresponds to your room. On the other hand, we inform you that we have strategically installed security cameras in all our Sant Jordi Hostels for your security.
Facilities and services: We offer facilities ready for you to fully enjoy all our services and a pleasant and quality stay in the hostels. If you have any questions about our facilities in any of our hostels or need more information, do not hesitate to contact us.

2. CONDITIONS OF ACCESS TO OUR FACILITIES
2.1 Hours of check-in and check-out (Barcelona)
Check-in: 2:00 pm
Check-out: 11:00 am
*The reception is open 24 hours in all hostels.
** If you wish to leave the city later, you are more than welcome to use the hostel’s common areas during that day. Also, we have a free luggage storage service.

2.3 Deposit in Barcelona
Upon delivery of the access card to the establishment, room, and ticket office, it is necessary to pay a mandatory deposit of € 10 per access card. This deposit will be recovered on the day of check-out when the key is returned. In case of loss of the card, the deposit will not be refunded.
2.4 Deposit in Lisbon
Upon delivery of the access card to the establishment and room, it is necessary to pay a mandatory deposit of € 5 per access card, as well as an optional deposit of € 5 per lock for the box office. This deposit will be recovered on the day of check-out when returning the key or padlock. In case of loss of card or padlock, the deposit will not be refunded.
2.5 Under 18 years of age
To stay at Sant Jordi Hostels, guests under 18 years of age traveling alone will have to present signed permission from their parent or legal guardian, as well as a signed photocopy of their identity documents.
For the guardianship and comfort of minors and other guests, minors from 16 years of age traveling alone or accompanied by their direct relatives, may not share the bedroom with the other guests. Minors and their families must book a whole bedroom or a private room just for them.
Likewise, in the case of group reservations for minors, those under 18 cannot share a dormitory with the other guests, and must in any case reserve entire bedrooms for them or private rooms. In the event that the minor customer causes any kind of damage to the installation, the full cost of the repair will be charged.
2.6 Taxes and/or tourist tax
The overnight stay of residents and foreign persons in tourist accommodation and hotels in the city is taxed through the tourist tax. Sant Jordi Hostels, in the application of the regulations of each destination, collects said amount for its corresponding liquidation with the administration. The details of the tax according to each destination are described below.
2.6.1 Barcelona: Tourist tax not included in the price of the reservation. Amount: € 1,54 per person, per night up to a maximum of 7 days. Rate governed by Law 23/2020, of June 9 published in the DOGC. People under 16 years of age, stay due to force majeure or health reasons * and travelers who adhered to programs subsidized by the Public Administration (such as Imserso) are exempt from paying this tourist tax.
* It will be necessary to present a document proving the medical reason.
2.6.2 Lisbon: Tourist tax not included in the price of the reservation. Amount: € 2.00 per person, per night up to a maximum of 7 days. Rate governed by the General Regulation of rates, prices, and other income of the municipality of Lisbon, published in DR, 2nd series, nº248, December 26, Aviso nº19334-A2018. People under 13 years of age, guests with the stay offered by tourist establishments and stays for health reasons* are exempt from paying this tourist fee.
* It will be necessary to present a document proving the medical reason.
2.7 Departing time
On the day of departure / check-out, customers have until 11:00 am to leave the room. Otherwise, Sant Jordi Hostels reserves the right to charge one more night. If you want to leave your luggage in the hostel on the day of your check-out, you can do so at no charge and continue using the common areas of the establishment until 11:00 pm (23:00) at most.
2.8 Admission fees
We work for the well-being of all guests and staff, taking into account that our main objective is to offer a comfortable and pleasant environment for everyone. It is part of our policy at all Sant Jordi Hostels to maintain respect and good relationships with customers and staff alike. We believe that mutual respect is vital to the experiences generated in our Sant Jordi Hostels and is essential to provide exceptional service. This is the secret of a healthy environment and a pleasant stay for everyone. Therefore, we inform you that we reserve the right to refuse admission and refuse service and/or request that a guest, in case of inappropriate or unacceptable behavior, leave the establishment at our discretion if necessary.
3. RATE POLICIES SANT JORDI HOSTELS- INDIVIDUAL RESERVATIONS (UP TO 10 PEOPLE)
3.1 Flexible Rate
Choosing the Flexible Rate allows you to book your bed and not pay any deposit until the day of the check-in. The reservation will be charged at the moment of check-in or, automatically, the day of the check-in at 8.00 pm. The Flexible Rate allows you to modify or cancel the booking, free of charge, up to 2 days before arrival.
3.2 Semiflexible Rate
The Semiflexible Rate allows you to book your bed and not pay any deposit until 7 days before arrival. At that moment, the total price of the booking will be charged. It is possible to modify or cancel the booking without any fees until 7 days before the check-in date.
3.3 Early Bird Rate
When making a reservation more than 1 month in advance of the arrival date, up to a 10% discount can be applied to the standard bed price when selecting the EARLY BIRD RATE. This discount entails the non-refundable booking conditions (the client loses the right to cancel the reservation, either in part or in its entirety. The total price of the reservation must be paid in advance.)
3.4 Non- refundable rate
When selecting the non-refundable rate, a 5% discount on the standard price may be applied. By choosing the NON-REFUNDABLE RATE, the customer loses the right to cancel the reservation, either in part or in its entirety. The total price of the reservation must be paid in advance.
3.5 Standard Rate
The standard rate is the original price without any discount applied. When making a reservation with the standard rate, customers can cancel the reservation up to 24 hours before the arrival date without including any additional charges.
3.6 Booking management and arrival time
If you wish to change your arrival time, please send us an e-mail or call us directly. We must keep up with any changes in your reservation. Also, check the exact hours of your reservation, our reservation system uses the 24-hour clock.
4. INDIVIDUAL RESERVATION CANCELLATION POLICIES – UP TO 10 PEOPLE
4.1 Cancellation policy: Remember that cancellations are accepted only by email and must be received by us at least 24 hours before the arrival time (check your arrival time in your reservation). In the case of non-cancellation or late cancellation, the deposit charged to your credit card at the time you made the reservation will not be refunded. Also, in this case, the price of the first night of the reservation will be retained by the hostel as a penalty for not having the correct cancellation notification. No exceptions to this rule are made.
4.2 Circumstances beyond our control: Unless stated otherwise, we regret to inform you that we cannot, under any circumstances, assume responsibility or pay any compensation in case of not being able to meet our obligations to you or your companions for reasons of “force majeure”. For these purposes, it is considered “force majeure” any event that our company or any other supplier could not, even with all the necessary and due diligence, foresee and/or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riots, civil conflicts, terrorist activities or threats, labor disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, adverse weather conditions, fires, and all similar events beyond our control, without this list being limiting.
5. POLICIES APPLIED TO GROUP RESERVATIONS (UP TO 10 PEOPLE)
As specified on our website, for reservations from 10 beds, we would like to inform the payment terms applied.
The payment process is done in two moments, the payment of the deposit and the remaining balance. Both will have to be settled according to the amounts and deadlines established by the contract.
5.1.1 Deposit: the payment of the deposit corresponds to 20% of the amount of the reservation, which will be charged to the credit card indicated by the customer or by bank transfer, on the same date that the customer makes the reservation online or through our group department, as a condition for confirming the reservation. In case Sant Jordi Hostels fails to charge granted by the client the amount of 20% in advance, we will proceed to cancel the reservation. *
5.1.2 Remaining balance: the payment of the remaining balance corresponds to 80% of the total amount of the reservation. This amount will be charged at least one (1) month in advance before the arrival of the group. The payment will be made by the charge on the credit card indicated by the customer or by bank transfer, as a condition for confirming the reservation. In case Sant Jordi Hostels fails to charge on the card granted by the client the amount of 80% in advance, we will proceed to cancel the reservation without the right to refund the deposit. *
(*) Failure to pay the deposit of the remaining balance within the established deadlines entails the immediate cancellation of the reservation. Regarding reservations requested and confirmed less than one month before the date of arrival of the group, the payment of the total amount will have to be made in one time.
5.2 Cancellation policy (groups of 10 people or more)
5.2.1 Total Cancellation: The cancellation of the reservation or the non-payment of the balance within the established date entails the immediate cancellation of the reservation and the loss of the deposit.
5.2.2 Partial Cancellation: Once the group is confirmed, only changes in the number of people are accepted as long as it does not exceed 10% of the total number of people in the reservation, it must be notified by email one week before the arrival date (7 days). The deposit is not refundable.
5.2.3 Change of dates: It is admitted to change the dates in the reservation, free of penalty, as long as it is notified by email in advance (1 month before the arrival of the group) and according to availability on the indicated new dates. For those communications received between 1 month and 1 week (maximum term) of the arrival of the group, it will only be accepted changes in the date that coincides with at least one of the days initially booked and as long as there is availability in the Hostels. In this case, a penalty equivalent to 10% of the total price of the reservation will be applied.
5.2.4 Circumstances beyond our control: Unless stated otherwise, we regret to inform you that we cannot, under any circumstances, assume responsibility or pay any compensation in case of not being able to meet our obligations to you or your companions for reasons of “force majeure”. For these purposes, it is considered “force majeure” any event that our company or any other supplier could not, even with all the necessary and due diligence, foresee and/or avoid. Such events may include war or threat of war, riots, civil conflicts, terrorist activities or threats, labor disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, adverse weather conditions, fires, and all similar events beyond our control, without this list being limiting.
6. RECHARGES APPLICABLE TO GUESTS
In the event that the customer misuses any type of machine or other appliances made available for use and enjoyment during the course of their stay (eg. washing machines, dryers, vending machines, dryers, hand dryers, refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, etc.), you will be charged the full cost of its repair and possible spare parts or the full cost of the appliance if its repair is not possible. If the client has a behavior that is not suitable for living with the rest of the clients or is the cause of complaints from the rest of the clients or neighbors of the neighborhood, the company’s management reserves the right to expel the client from the installation without any refund of the cost of your stay. The company is not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of customer valuables at its facilities.
