I was traveling alone and Sant Jordi was perfect! The staff was awesome, very helpful and organized activities for the evening. The group dinner was a lot of fun and a great deal. Thanks to them I got to experience the nightlife in Barcelona and still make it safely back to my room despite traveling by myself! The hostel was very clean with a friendly atmosphere and a great location, very easy to find. The key card for the rooms and lockers was very convenient.

Excellent hostel in a perfect location. This was the first hostel I’ve been to that has a dedicated activities coordinator/guide/party animal. Bernardo makes sure everyone is having fun and is included in all of the activities day and night. It’s very easy to meet people and make friends in this environment. The hostel staff were very professional and accommodating. The hostel is very clean and has the most modern amenities available. A must stay while in Barcelona.

Absolutely fantastic hostel, honestly one of the best i’ve ever stayed in! Gracia is the best neighbourhood to be situated in! Stall were relaxed friendly and felt like friends. Setup of the hostel is great too with plenty of chill areas, though enough space between these and the rooms while stilling being small and intimate. Overall, made my stay in barcleona even better!!

Definitely one of the best hostels I’ve ever been to! The staff was amazing and very friendly! Especially love it when Pablo is managing the reception because he is such a fun guy to be around with. Awesome pub crawls and nights out by the hostel as well! The pub crawl guy Lucas, is always so full of enthusiasm and does an excellent job in making sure everyone enjoys the night. All in all, excellent hostel and I’d definitely come back again! :D

Simply the best hostel i’ve stayed in. Really clean, relaxed atmosphere, pub crawls every night for those who want to go out and a good night sleep for the others. But the staff makes all the difference, they are the best and they make you feel like you are family as soon as you push the door. Thanks for the wonderful stay!

This place is just great! I spent one week in barcelona and stayed the last three nights at Sant Jordi Gracia. This hostel made the difference between a good and an awesome week – that i totally had! Staff is amazingly friendly, you meet open and cool people and they even taught us how to make spanish tortilla and pan con tomate when we all cooked together and had dinner. The interior is very nice, the whole hostel is clean and well-equipped and you can see that they put a lot of effort to the details. Thanks guys, had a great time with you!

Benjamin, Germany | 16 March 2014 |

The staffs are nice. Wi-Fi is covered everywhere. Each bed in the dormitory is comfortable with light and socket. And the locker is big enought for me to put my luggage in it. The security system including using a card for the door of room makes me feel safe. I like the design of the lobby, especially the bicycle”

Zhiyun, France | 10 March 2014 |

I stayed here for 8 nights with my two friends and was overwhelmed with the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. I’d like to say how great Pablo, Walter, Bernardo and Mathew were. The four were always willing to help and nothing was ever a problem. The hostel it’s self was super clean and the bicycle theme is well suited for the area of Gracia. The rooms have nice comfy bunk beds with lockers and you don’t need a lock! They have professional cleaners everyday, which made the hostel sparkle. The area the hostel is situated in is really lovely. I would recommend this hostel just because of the helpful staff and the lively atmosphere they bring to sant jordi. I would recommend here and can’t wait to go back.

Caity G., Australia | 07 March 2014 | Tripadvisor

During my past travels in spain in italy, that was by far the best Hostel I´ve seen! I can only recommend everybody to choose one of the sant jorid hostels especially Gracia. All staffmembers are helpful and design every evening special. I had a great time and decided to stop traveling in italy to come back to sant jordi in Barcelona to see Bernado and all the lovely people there.

Amazing environment! Great setup. Great staff. Great activities. Excellent vibe. I had a blast at this hostel! Hands down my favorite on my european trip. Bernardo, Renatto, and Eli were a few of the many awesome staff members!

I have travelled all over the world and stayed in many backpacker hostels. I even managed one in Singapore for a while – and I have to say Sant Jordi in Gracia was one of the best I have seen. The staff were brilliant – really friendly and helpful, with good suggestions for places to eat, drink and have fun. The dorms and bathrooms were very clean, and the security was excellent. It was great whether you wanted to party or just chill out on the beanbags reading a book. Great place, great people.

Anonymous, Australia | 02 March 2014 | Male 31 – 40 | Hostelworld

ALL the hostel STAFF were amazing. Even though the hostel was very quiet when i was there due to the time of the year they made my time enjoyable; Eli the coolest Brazilian ever looked after me and made the stay so memorable along with her Australian partner in crime Hannah. Love you two xx. The pub crawls are a must. thank you all. Was sad leaving you all. From your Kiwi friend Dan X

This hostel probably made my Barcelona experience. The facilities were so clean and the staff was really accommodating. Everything went very smoothly check in wise and I had a great night out with one of the staffers and a couple of the people staying at the hostel. Stay here if you want the best time in Barcelona!!!!

I only spend one night at St Jordi, Gracia, but a loved it! The staff is just great, the atmosphere is very nice and it is very clean (I should probably mention that I have worked as a housekeeper for a short while so I usually notice stuff). I sould also say it seems very secure. You have yor own locker for free and you open it with your key. This weekend break was my first time travelling alone and at St Jordi’s I felt like I’m surrownded by friends :)

One of the best hostels I stayed in during my 3 months in Europe. The common areas allowed me to meet so many fellow travelers. I had such a good time :) The kitchen was great. Free pasta and sangria nights too! I liked that the location was far from the crazies, but still bustling with bars, shops, and markets. I just loved this place.

Anonymous, USA | Female 25-30 | 16 October 2013 | Hostelworld

Had a fantastic time here! The staff in particular were amazing! Felt very comfortable and met a lot of great people. Sant Jordi Gracia really made us feel at home during our stay.

Oh wow, what can I say about San Jordi Gracia?I stayed for almost 2 weeks total. When I tried to leave, I couldn’t help but go back. The staff is hilarious. Pablo,Marco,Elisa and that Greek guy who works nights made the hostel worth the stay. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. All the guests came together as a huge dysfunctional family. We had pasta nights and pub crawls. I recommend this place to anyone who wants an enriching experience in Barcelona.Go there, you will have the time of your life.

This was one of my favorite hostels from my 10 city / 3 month trip. Great location if you’re looking for something a little off the beaten path, but still pretty centrally located. Rooms are super clean, staff was friendly, helpful and all kinds of wonderful. Met tons of people as soon as I arrived, which was great, as I’ve been traveling solo. Would absolutely stay here again.

Anonymous, USA | Female 25-30 | 17 Septmeber 2013 | Hostelworld

My girlfriend and I stayed at Sant Jordi Gracia, as well as Aragó. Although they both offer a very different atmosphere (Gracia is bigger, therefore much more busy, whereas Aragó is smaller and therefore much more personal and intimate) they are both highly recommendabe. The staff was exceptionally friendly, competent and forthcoming, namely Nuno Carvalho at Aragó. I can recommend staying there, I enjoyed it a lot and will definitely go there again!

one of the top 5 hostels i’ve been at around the world so far! location superb, everything is clean and new, the hostel-crowd was supernice (not the typical ‘hey i’m traveling but all i do is getting pissed and sleep all day’ crowd). i will come back!

Sant Jordi Hostel in Gracia is a very special place in Barcelona, if you want to experience more about the local life in Barcelona it is a must to go to Sant Jordi Hostel. The staff is very friendly and Pablo is a very nice guy always in place to help you

I stayed at saint Jordi gracia on two different occasions for at least a week each time. I returned here the second time as I really loved the neighbourhood of gracia. Gracia itself is a great area to explore with lovely bars, restaurants and hipster style shops. The city centre is very accessible by foot & train. The staff are lovely and always willing to help in any way they can. Special mentions to Pablo and Gary, who were always kind, thoughtful and patient with every enquiry I had.

Anonymous, Australia | Female 25-30 | 14 August 2013 | Hostelworld

Definitely the best hostel I stayed at! The staff was very friendly, the location was only a few metro stops from anywhere you would wanna go in the city, and all the people I met at the hostel were also amazing. Next time I go back to Barcelona I will definitely stay at sant jordi gracia again!

What a great hostel! When I walked in people were lounging on beanbags in front of Space Jam. I was able to get a lot if R n R here, it’s a lot less crowded than La Rambla, but there are still plenty of people and shops to entertain you. Nice beds, sheets provided, little outlets to charge your phones and they do their best to help you get sleep with lighting. The bar crawls were too much fun. And the staff Pablo, Marco, and Gary were all amazing. So helpful and nice. Thank you jordi!

Amazing hostel. Super clean in a really interesting neighborhood. It felt way more authentic than staying in a touristy area. You can easily get to anywhere you need to be as you’re between two different metro stops on different lines. The staff at the hostel are amazing as well- they will do anything to make your stay awesome. Whether its recommending shops or even taking you out to a particular dj that night. Easy to meet people here as well! Stay here if you’re in Barcelona.

Practical and an all over good hostel. Gracia is not very close to the city center, but the aria is super nice. Full of good restaurants, cafes and bars. And a lot less tourists..

Anonymous, Norway | Female 25-30 | 13 June 2013 | Hostelworld

At the moment you enter the hostel you know these people have experience with hostels. Everything you need is there: A big map of the city on the wall, 6 computers with internet access, wifi on every floor, a well-equipped kitchen with a huge fridge, a quiet terrasse, a chillout area with comfortable bean-bags and even a very nice roof-top with a bathtub. The beds in the dorms are comfy, every guest has his own big locker. Very nice and lively atmosphere, in an inspiring urban quarter.

We made a 3 day stop in Barcelona on our trip and we considered canceling the rest of our bookings and staying here for the remainder of our trip. The planned events are great and the people we met were even better. I’m already making plans to come back with friends or by myself. It has the most family atmosphere of any hostel I stayed in. Not a bad thing to say about gracia.

Staff is really friendly, they organize events for guests almost every evening. The whole hostel is recently renewed, rooms are very clean and common spaces (terrace, kitchen, eating area) are nice and well equipped. Position is excellent: just few minutes walk from 2 different subway stops, the neighborhood (Gracia) is really nice with bars and small restaurants which populate on weekend evenings.

This is the best hostel ever. Wifi everywhere, 6 computers (free access) great kitchen with all facilities, some parties or just chill out nights organised on most of the evenings, very helpful and kind staff, clean and spacious rooms, huge lockers, perfectly safe… My second time there and as PERFECT as the first one. just GO!

FANTASTIC, EXCELLENT, WONDERFUL place to be if you want to feel like you’re home away from home. I tried another hostel for one night because Sant Jordi were fully booked on friday and I was borderline depressed at the other hostel. Pls stay here. Forget other hostels. I promise you :)

Anonymous, USA | Female 25-30 | 25 April 2013 | Hostelworld

This hostel is so perfect it’s scary. Every tiny detail is perfectly thought out to give travelers maximum enjoyment and comfort. I’ve seen many many hostels around and I can’t help but to give this one 100% on everything, but in the end there’s the feeling that something is missing… perhaps it just seems too commercial, missing the spontaneity and even the adorable imperfections of old-style family-run places. Are these doomed to disappear when Sant Jordi takes over the world?

Anonymous, Brazil | Male 231-40 | 24 April 2013 | Hostelworld

Awesome hostel, super nice staff, since it is quite small you get to know everyone, super clean, really comfortable beds, interesting neighbourhood – definitely a must for people who want to discover Barcelona outside of the touristic areas (although they are not far away!). Nice bakery just around the corner to grab a warm croissant (they have awesme pastéis de Belém as well – you should try!) just after getting up…

If you are going to Barcelona, please stay at Sant Jordi Gracia! I stayed here for four nights and I wanted to move in. The hostel is clean, safe, and has an awesome location close to two metro stops and a cute plaza. The kitchen and common area are awesome and a great way to meet people. They have a rooftop and a terrace too. The staff is always there to help and they have nightly activities like pub crawls or just making dinner together. I loved staying here and will be back!

This was my first ever stay at a hostel, led alone my first time venturing out of the United States. I am a native new yorker, and the Sant Jordi Garcia hostel was my favorite experience so far on my trip. Not only is the facility extremely clean, new, and friendly…the staff is AWESOME. Half of the hostel workers are musicians or DJs, and they always want to get you involved with things going on. You can party and meet friends, or take it easy and people are considerate and won’t keep you up!

The hostel has super facilities with great security and it is in a great location for exploring Gracia/Parc Guell and for reaching the city centre. The staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful. In my opinion, this is the best hostel in Barcelona. Located away from the obnoxious craziness of La Rambla, it is situated in Gràcia, a quieter, quainter part of Barcelona with more culture. The hostel feels brand new, with extremely clean living areas, a full kitchen, keycard access, large lockers, a terrace, and the live-in staff is incredibly nice. Plus the regular events you’d expect from a hostel. Probably the best hostel I’ve stayed in in Europe. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant, probably best hostel I’ve ever stayed in and off the beaten tourist track, fantastic.

Had a really great stay in Barca. Would recommend Sant Jordi Gracia without doubt.

If you’ve stayed in a fair few hostels, you’ll notice that the Sant Jordi team know how to set up and run a hostel. Facilities out the wazoo, rooms and massive lockers were all card accessed, kitchen and numerous chill out areas are spot on. Had cook ups and events every night we were on. Team is super and epically helpful.

Hands down the best hostel I’ve stayed in (and I’ve been on the road for 2 months). Absolutely fantastic staff who organizes events for the hostel (going to clubs, bars, making tapas at the hostel, bbqs). Great environment to meet people, which is especially useful to owe traveling alone. It’s near 2 metro stops and walking distance to everything. I even stayed 2 extra nights because I loved it so much!

Best hostel I’ve stayed in throughout EU. Great staff, easy commute and the location was walking distance to Sagrada, Casa de Batllo, parc de guell. The best part about my stay there was that it was away from all the touristy locations, comfy lounge rooms, and that it was around the LOCAL neighbourhoods. Great stay and will be back soon. S/O to STAFF!!!

Everything was pretty awesome! The accomodations were all very new and clean. There were individual lockers, which is a very safe for ourselves. And the staff was the best. Nothing to complain about!

Great place to stay, brand new hostel with helpful and friendly staff, cater to all the needs of your average backpacker/traveller – fun nights out mingling with the other guests plus free internet and great rooms. The location is also fab Gracia is such a cool place and very accessible to the centre of Barcelona. STAY HERE!

the cleanest hostel i have stayed at (i think it was opened in april). 6 new computers for internet usage, wi-fi was fast, new kitchen and facilities, and the most impressive thing was the level of security – you get an electronic swipe card to get access to your dorm AND you get an electronically locked locker which is only opened by your swipe card. good location in an arty/grungy area of town away from the tourist crowds around la rambla.

I used to live in Barcelona and I was back for a few days. This hostel is absolutely amazing. There’s no better location in Barcelona then this one. The Gracia area is the most cosy area of Barcelona, and with the green (L3) metro-line everything is within 10 minutes. So if you’re planning to go to Barcelona book this hostel and avoid the hostels in the centre.

This was by far the cleanest hostel we had stayed at during our time in Europe. I also appreciated the firm mattresses and decent size pillows. The lights off policy was amazing too. I got the best sleep there because of that policy!

Loved it! Everyone was so nice and friendly it didn´t really feel like I was even staying in a hostel

St. Jordi Gracia was amazing! We stayed at four different hostels in Europe, and this one was by far the BEST. It was clean, and the staff were beyond impressive. Another distinguishing factor was the awesome kitchen! We had such a fun time buying foods and cooking them in the kitchen with other travelers. The ONLY recommendation I would make would be to decrease the cost of laundry. It was more expensive than any other hostel we went to. St. Jordi Gracia is the best hostel in Europe!

By far the best hostel I stayed in while traveling across Europe this spring. The brand new facilities were clean and state-of-the-art. The staff was international, super friendly, and very inviting. The neighborhood was awesome but not crowded or touristy and the clientele was great as well, I made some good friends while staying there.

I would definitely recommend this hostal for any traveller who is interested in having a great time in Barcelona. I would especially recommend it to people who are traveling alone, since they organize lots of activities at the hostel which is great to get to know other travelers. Thumbs up!

Liked: Fantastic hostel, only opened a week before I went there and it is one of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed in, all the staff are friendly, the facilities are all brand new and clean. There is free Internet access in the communal areas, an outside terrace. There is a communal kitchen area with microwaves, cookers ovens and a large fridge for food. One bonus was that in the evenings the hostel organises social events for the guests, for example sangria night, tapas or BBQ for only two euros. Also worthy of a mention are the extremely comfortable beanbags in the living area, around a very large tv! The location is good for the price, with two metro stations in walking distance, the hostel is around 15 minutes from Ramblas so you can get pretty much anywhere!

Definitely recommended! It’s brand new and very clean. The staff members were all so friendly and helpful. There were organized events, including dinners for only 2 euro, 3 out of 5 nights I was there. Each bunk has its own light and electrical outlet. Personal lockers in each room and every guest gets their own key. Safe and quiet location but also close to the Metro and food. I loved staying here!

Brand new, modern, clean, quiet in the dorms and fun in the common areas. Each bed has its own light and powerplug. The staff were awesome, open and friendly. There’s a great common area with tvs, wifi, computers, bean bags and tables where you can hang out and meet people and a big kitchen. Cool realxed vibes. Gracia is close to the centre and is a really cool area with lots of bars and plazas. The best thing, which I’ve never seen in any other hostel: at 11.30 the overhead lights are turned off in the dorms so people can actually sleep. Each bed has its own personal light so each person can still come in and do what they need to do, but without disturbing the other guests. This is great cos sometimes you really do just need to sleep in a hostel. And people who want to party and talk can do it in the cool common area

We spent 5 days in Barcelona and had stayed in 3 different hostels, of which Sant Jordi Gracia was by far the best. Being one of the first to stay at this hostel, everything was very new and clean. Great facilities: showers have hot water, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the atmosphere of the place is really comfortable with cool decorations. Though the location is a bit far from the center by foot, the metro is close. Staff is awesome and super helpful, I definitely recommend this hostel!

Loved my stay with 5 friends @ Sant Jordi Gracia. Would recommend it to anyone, and would go back in a minute if I had the chance.

After staying at the hostel, I worked for a company that I wrote a blog post for, about the area of Gracia.

Also wrote a brief post about Sitges beach, just outside of BCN…recommended to us by Duda who works at the hostel.

    > Was the best experience ever, and I hope everyone else who goes there enjoys it just as much!

SANT JORDIII GRACIA WAS BLOODY AWESOME!!! Been to so many hostels around the world travelling from Australia, Asia, USA and all over Europe and I must say I have never had as much fun as I have here! Biggest thanks to all the guys at reception with special mention to Eliza who is by far the coolest and most vibrant host ever – it made our time here spectacular! Fun is an understatement! This is on top of the clean beds, rooms and facilities and ever so helpful staff. Love this city and have fallen for it even more because of Sant Jordi Gracia. 100% rating! Many thanks!
