Great location–not right in the thick of things, but within easy walking distance, and close to the metro. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. Beds were quite comfortable. The common room was a great social space, and they have free wifi in addition to two computers. Lockers in the rooms for your stuff. Very clean, and a good breakfast. No complaints; it was a great place. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Best hostel I have ever stayed at. AMAZING staff, so friendly and welcoming. The hostel was clean and offered cheap drinks, free sangria on some nights, free wifi, free hairdryers… Really, the best thing was the friendly atmosphere. They really make it feel like home.

Beautifully designed hostel, very nice and cool stuff, totally clean and I was surpriced how calm it was at night in the sleeping rooms. Even the party people where very respectfull and calm when they came back from the fiestas at night. I didn’t wake up. This Hostel has a very good energy. There is only one Minus: The showers have no flexible shower heads, means: the water comes only from up and this is a problem for the girls if they really want to become clean.

It is a wonderful place for students to stay. The stuff is very helpful. The atmosphere of this hostel makes you fill home and not in hostel. Good location… very easy to find even if you are first time in Barcelona. I highly recommend everyone to stay in this hostel

This was a great hostel in a great location. The staff were incredibly fun and helpful. They are always around and always helpful. They have plenty of amenities (printer, computers, maps, towels, showers, bathrooms, etc.) The place was clean and warm with nice lockers to keep your stuff in. Great hostel!

I had the GREATEST time! My friend Katie and I arrived late because our flight was delayed, so we were so exhausted. However, when we approached the hostel, Daves was there to greet us and everything. Daves was so amazing, friendly and helpful; definitely made our stay fun and memorable!

I was traveling aroud europe for two and half months and this hostel was the best we’ve stayed. was going to stay a week and ended up staying two! best staff, super clean, and the common area is great to meet people. very well located! This is by far the funnest hostel I have ever stayed in. 3€ wine was FABULOUS!!!! There was always something going on, it felt definitely like a home away from home. I really enjoyed the place and reccommended it to my friends. I can’t wait to stay there again when I’m ready to go to the beach in September!

Amazing staff. Very friendly and great atmosphere. I would recommend this hostel to anyone. The location was perfect. Not center of tourist life but close enough to walk to all the famous and fun spots. About a block away from a metro stop.

I had a wonderful stay at Mambo Tango. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the best part of the stay was the friendly and helpful staff. The staff will go out of their way to ensure that you have an amazing trip. Compared to other hostels I have stayed at Mambo Tango has a community vibe. It’s a home away from home with a fun and funky decor. The free internet access and all you can drink tea was amazing. If I am ever in Barcelona again, I know where to stay! Lovely relaxed and friendly hostel. I stayed with my daughter for a few days and it was a perfect base from which to explore old Barcelona. We could walk everywhere (even up to the park Guell) and only 10 mins to Placa Reial. What was nice the sense of flexibility and staff friendliness, which the guests seemed to reflect back. The rooms are a little spare / spartan and the bunk beds were a little small but it is a hostel not a hotel. When full, can seem rather cramped but it is certainly cosy!

The best hostel I have stayed at in all of Europe. The staff are amazing and you feel like you are staying in someone’s home. Daniel, Igor, Gustavo, and Daves are great hosts. I will return to this hostel for sure. Very clean, and the common room in the basement with couches is awesome. Also free wifi, and free computers. It’s an easy 10 min walk to la rambla and 20 mins to the beach although you can easily take the metro.

What an amazing hostel! I stayed at MamboTango for 7 nights in June/July 2011. Igor,Gus and Marta are all legends and were very helpful in making my stay an enjoyable one. Kudos to Igor for helping me find the choc shops! Gus’ passion for music made the lobby a relaxed atmosphere,and Marta’s recommended spots ensured I saw all of Barcelona. Not a clubber’s hostel, but as this is owned by St Jordi you can go to the others and take advantage of the daily trips to clubs. Amazing guests as well!!!

I paid a little more to stay at this hostel, but it was definitely worth it. It was very social, great location walking distance to Ramblas and the beach, cheap beer, fast WiFi, and a big common room that we hung out in on my last night there. It was very secure with big lockers and a metal lockdown cover over the front door at night (with 24hr access for residents). Plus, Barcelona is a great city to be in with a fun hostel group. I’ll definitely book again here next time.

Being greeted at Mambo Tango was one of the best parts for us! Coming off a night train and meeting Igor at the front desk was just what we needed. The place is SO clean and so comfortable to come ‘home to’. Everything was in great working order and it’s very close to the metro station for easy access. The place is great for waking up, staying up late, or just sleeping. Would definitely stay there again and for longer!
